Virtual reality enables the creation of corporate training experiences
The Virtual Reality Seminar applied to the SEFED programme was held on 17 December 2025 at the COE-CAT premises in El Prat de Llobregat, the Centre for Guidance, Entrepreneurship, Support and Innovation for Employment.
The event brought together forty-seven people involved in SEFED coordination and technical staff from local councils, with the aim of exploring how virtual reality can help update the business simulation methodology and make it more immersive, practical and aligned with today’s labour-market reality.
Methodology
The seminar was based on a participatory and collaborative methodology, combining theoretical content, hands-on activities and teamwork.
This approach enabled participants to jointly reflect on SEFED’s training challenges and to experience how virtual reality can become a useful tool within the simulated company. The methodology encouraged the exchange of experiences among teaching teams, coordinators and technical staff, fostering a shared vision of educational innovation.
Activities carried out
-
Introduction to virtual reality, extended reality and their application in training.
-
Collaborative hackathon in mixed groups by simulated-company areas: sales, warehouse and human resources.
-
Identification of five training challenges per area that could be addressed using virtual reality.
-
Plenary sharing of the challenges identified and collection of conclusions on a visual board.
-
Design of three virtual reality training activities applicable to the SEFED programme.
-
Discussion and idea-sharing space between teaching staff and the coordination teams of the different SEFED organizations.
Impact and next steps
The seminar had a direct impact on how participants understand the potential of virtual reality within the SEFED programme. Specific training challenges were identified, and proposed activities were generated, providing a solid basis for future implementation.
This initiative marks a first step towards the gradual integration of virtual reality into the business simulation methodology, with the intention of continuing to develop more immersive, innovative training experiences aligned with labour-market needs, while keeping social and educational responsibility in focus.
